There are several city and state programs available to assist you with housing costs if you are considering teaching in San Francisco. National Board Certified teachers can earn a $5,000 stipend in addition to their salary. Credentialed teachers who teach in a high-needs school will receive a $2000 stipend and credentialed teachers in high-needs subject areas will receive a $1000 stipend. Qualifications:
- A Current California Teaching Credential or out-of-state equivalent by July 2010
- Authorization to work with English Language Learners (commonly known as CLAD or BCLAD Certification)
